A Semantical Conversation of the Church’s “Mission”
October 7, 2010 – 10:32 amThe precise nuances of some definitions are not worth debating over; the definition of the Church’s mission is. (Obviously we think so, with a ministry title like Missions Mandate!)
If this presentation of the mission of the church resonates with you, you should attend the 2010 Mid-American Conference on Preaching (MACP), hosted by Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary.
The theme for the Oct 21, 22 conference is “Church, Kingdom, Mission: Understanding and Assessing the Missional Church Movement.”
Speakers include Pres. David Doran, the DBTS Faculty (William Combs, Robert McCabe, Bruce Compton, Sam Dawson, Mark Snoeberger, John Aloisi) and the pastoral staff of Inter-City Baptist Church .
General Sessions will cover:
- What is the relationship between the Church and the Kingdom?
- What is the mission of the Church?
- What is the relationship between the great commandment and the great commission?
- What is the Church’s role in the transformation of society?
- Does the church exist to serve the world?
List of workshop topics:

- History, Ecclesiology, and Mission, Or, Are We Neglecting Some Options Here?
