May 5, 2010 – 10:50 amAn M Trivia question was asked in the latest edition of the MM Express, a regular email update sent out by Missions Mandate. Below is the answer:
M Trivia for MM Express 2.3: The first sentence of John Piper’s book Let the Nations Be Glad! has become a helpful anthem for missions today. It states that “Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church.” What is the ultimate goal of the church?” (according to the next sentence)
Correct answer: Worship. Piper follows the 1st sentence with the following: “Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man… [Missions] is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.” For more info concerning the book check out the recent review of Let the Nations Be Glad! on the MM blog.
Out of the correct answers submitted, a winner was selected at random. She has been notified via email and will receive a free copy of the 3rd edition of Piper’s Let the Nations Be Glad!.
