The End of Day Two
January 6, 2010 – 1:50 amAfter three plenary sessions, three workshops, an hour of prayer, and non-stop fellowship in between, I’m worn out. It’s been an exciting day as well as an exhausting day.
As I wind down and try to get to ready to sleep, one thought from our hour-long “Concert of Prayer” remains on my mind. I prayed in a small group with Paul Hudson, a student from Atlanta, Georgia, who’s studying ESL in college. As we were praying for revival and renewal, he prayed,
“Lord, thank you for adopting us. Thank you for setting your love on us. You loved us, not because of us, but because You loved us. Lord, keep us from spiritual adultery.”
My heart resounded with Paul’s prayer, and it has stuck with me all day. The theme was reiterated again when we sang these words in tonight’s plenary session:
I will glory in my Redeemer, my life He bought, my love He owns. I have no longings for another, I’m satisfied in Him alone.
Lord, may that continually be true of me, of those attending this conference, of our churches, and of your church. Keep our hearts satisfied with all we have in Christ, and free from the materialism that infects us within and attracts us from without.
