Missionary Care Website
April 10, 2009 – 9:17 amJohn Muehleisen, the creator of the Donor Manager program that was highlighted in yesterday’s post, designed the site of another useful website, Missionary Care.com. Designed as an aid to pre-field, on-field, and post-field missionaries, MissionaryCare.com offers dozens of articles and resources for free. 62 brochures are available for download covering a myriad of topics, from culture stress to premature departure from the field to retirement from the field.
Ron & Bonnie Koteskey, the founders of Missionary Care, served as missionaries and now offer support to missionaries on a full-time basis. Another website by the Koteskeys, CrossCulturalWorkers.com provides the same brochures and resources, but contains a different title for safe access by those serving in restricted access nations. Both sites provide links to additional websites regarding missionary care (MC’s links; CCW’s links). They also created a database of various missionary care topics that can be viewed online or downloaded.
Disclaimer: Dr. Ron Koteskey taught psychology at the undergraduate level at Asbury College (see their About Us page). His psychology background is reflected in his articles and comments. While there are many helpful aspects to his advice, discretion should be used while reading. The position of Missions Mandate and Inter-City Baptist Church, to which MM is directly related, is that all of our counseling principles ought to be derived from the Word of God (technical definition, nouthetic counseling).
